1931 — Routing Visibility Exactly Controls the C8 Fold-Pairing Support

Hard-to-vary claim

For a labelled C8 rank-four occurrence, let

F⊂PC8F\subset\mathcal P_{C_8}

be the eight-simplex face cut out by its seven selected source facets. Exactly four edges occur twice among the nine source vertices of FF, once with vertex type 2 and once with vertex type 3. Call their set D(F)D(F).

Let RR be the four source-labelled free routing edges in the base-reduced companion model. Then

source fold pairing is nonzero⟺D(F)=R.\boxed{ \text{source fold pairing is nonzero} \quad\Longleftrightarrow\quad D(F)=R. }

Thus the 22/14 split of Entry 1930 is controlled by a carrier-incidence property: full routing visibility.

Exact census

Across the 36 source occurrence orbits,

22 have D(F)=R,14 have D(F)≠R.22\text{ have }D(F)=R, \qquad 14\text{ have }D(F)\neq R.

Across all 288 labelled cyclic occurrences,

176 have full routing visibility,112 fail it.176\text{ have full routing visibility}, \qquad 112\text{ fail it}.

These sets agree exactly with, respectively, the nonzero and zero source-fold coefficients of Entry 1930. They also agree exactly with the nonzero and zero OS-sewn pairings.

Why this criterion is typed

On a doubled edge ee, the face carries both occurrence vertices. Its two barycentric factors retain the two signed appearances of the routing coordinate yey_e; schematically their product has the form

(ue−ye)(ue+ye).(u_e-y_e)(u_e+y_e).

Hence the face canonical form can detect motion in that routing direction. If a free routing edge is absent from D(F)D(F), the corresponding signed pair is absent from the face residue. In the tested C8 models the companion fold kernel then lies in the logarithmic kernel of the face form, and the odd coefficient vanishes identically modulo the full fold divisor.

This is not a rule fitted to the numerical counts. Both sides are computed independently:

Cyclic covariance

Under a one-step cyclic transport, both D(F)D(F) and RR rotate by the same labelled edge permutation. Equality or inequality is therefore preserved. The exact 288-occurrence audit confirms this, compatibly with Entry 1930's projective transport scalar +1+1.

Consequence

The mixed support is no longer an unexplained coefficient census. It is predicted before any fold differentiation by a source-carrier test:

the fold can couple only when its complete routing four-plane is visible on the source face.\boxed{ \text{the fold can couple only when its complete routing four-plane is visible on the source face.} }

This strengthens H2. The carrier decides where a sector-specific fold coefficient may couple; the fold Gauss--Manin object decides what coefficient lives there. It does not select the affine Betti generator excluded in Entry 1930.

Verification

The checker derives every face directly from the 65 frozen source facets and 24 source vertices, transports the free routing labels through all eight cyclic shifts, and verifies both equivalences on all 288 occurrences.

Next falsifier

Apply the predeclared visibility test to the smallest higher graph carrying a source-derived nontransverse companion fold. If a nonzero fold pairing occurs with an invisible free routing direction, or full visibility produces an identically zero generic odd coefficient for reasons not generated by the existing OS/Gysin calculus, routing visibility is a C8 coincidence rather than a carrier law.
