2358 — The Executable D(S3) Fault-Tolerance Frontier Is a Magic-Source Obstruction
Verdict
The stabilizer subcompiler is executable: verified encoded Choi teleportation
implements H, F3, qubit SUM, and qutrit SUM across all 110 Bell branches;
verified generalized Shor cats implement component recovery; the 26-contact
macro exRec contains zero malignant single faults among 78 and 220 malignant
pairs among 3,081.
The full compiler is nevertheless impossible in the frozen stabilizer
resource theory. Qubit-controlled qutrit inversion is non-Clifford and has
non-Clifford Choi feed-forward in 32 of 36 branches. Record powers one and
two need controlled-T/controlled-S-type resources. Transporter,
class-conditioned Fourier, and sector lookup remain coherent nonstabilizer
multiplexors. No verified magic source or code switch was admitted.
The acquisition core uses 50 encoded rails. Full physical gate count, depth, and magic-ancilla count are undefined rather than zero. Distance three is sufficient for the executable stabilizer subcompiler and conditionally for a future extension whose magic modules satisfy the same one-fault contract; it is not an executable full-compiler theorem today.
