2719 — Reciprocal Adjoint Completion Changes the Evans Zero Equation

At finite cutoff,

B+,Xc=cfX,B+,X∗G=⟨fX,G⟩.B_{+,X}c=cf_X, \qquad B_{+,X}^*G=\langle f_X,G\rangle.

The one-way Evans system has exact adjoint residual

Radj,X=−B+,X∗.R_{\mathrm{adj},X}=-B_{+,X}^*.

Installing the reciprocal row restores off-diagonal symmetry but adds the scalar equation

⟨fX,Gz,X⟩+Cz,X=0,\langle f_X,G_{z,X}\rangle+C_{z,X}=0,

which is not the endpoint Evans condition (F_X(z)=0). The missing constructor is therefore a source-derived scalar block whose Schur determinant reproduces the endpoint Evans determinant up to a nowhere-zero unit.
