2740 — Self-Adjoint Linearization Is Equivalent to Real-Rootedness Unless Source-Derived

For a finite carrier compression, the bordered cross-transfer numerator is

p(z)=−det⁡(A−zI)bf∗(A−zI)−1b0.p(z)=-\det(A-zI)b_f^*(A-zI)^{-1}b_0.

If pp equals a nowhere-zero unit times det⁡(H−zI)\det(H-zI) for a self-adjoint matrix HH, then all zeros of pp are real. Conversely, if pp is real-rooted, a diagonal self-adjoint matrix can be manufactured from those zeros. Therefore unconstrained self-adjoint linearization is equivalent to the desired real-rootedness and supplies no independent explanation.

Positive colocation bf=cb0b_f=c b_0 would give a genuine Herglotz mechanism, but the theta source and endpoint ports are distinct. The remaining noncircular gate is an independently source-derived metric or boundary correspondence that collocates them before scalar compression.

Kitaev's effective-resistance certificate is downstream: it can control a normalization unit after the source graph and its energy have been derived, but it cannot create the missing port correspondence.
