2743 — Translation-Commutant Metric Cannot Collocate Theta Source and Endpoint

For a self-adjoint carrier AA, a positive metric GG preserves the carrier and collocates the cross-transfer ports only if

GA=AG,Gb0=bf.GA=AG, \qquad G b_0=b_f.

For logarithmic translation, every bounded commuting metric is a Fourier multiplier gg. Since the endpoint port has constant Fourier transform, collocation forces

g=f^.g=\widehat f.

The completed theta source is integrable, so the Riemann--Lebesgue lemma gives f^(ξ)→0\widehat f(\xi)\to0. Therefore gg cannot be bounded below, and no equivalent positive translation-covariant Hilbert metric can identify the theta source with endpoint evaluation.

This closes the shortest Herglotz promotion without using any zero information. A viable construction must enlarge or change the operator system, or prove strict stability in a genuinely rigged relative topology. Effective resistance remains a scalar-unit certificate downstream of a source-derived graph energy; it does not repair this Hilbert metric defect.
