3204 — One Boundary Counterterm Cannot Hide Two RG Contexts

Result

For leading-log transport (lambda_p(L)=a+bL) with source-generated (b>0), two distinct scale contexts have response determinant (L_2-L_1). Optimizing over every boundary value gives the exact residual floor

min⁡amax⁡(∣λp(L1)∣,∣λp(L2)∣)=b∣L2−L1∣2.\min_a\max \left(|\lambda_p(L_1)|,|\lambda_p(L_2)|\right) =\frac{b|L_2-L_1|}{2}.

A boundary counterterm can hide the portal at one scale, not two.

Limit

The contexts are source-generated by RG transport, but no two calibrated same-operator interference measurements at distinct physical scales are currently admitted. Complete running beyond leading log remains open.
