3356 — Gauge Invariance Forces the Carrier but Forbids Bulk Contrast

Claim

For a five-dimensional (SO(5)) gauge connection on (S^1/Z_2) with parity (P=\operatorname{diag}(1,1,1,1,-1)), one-form covariance forces exactly four even (A_5) zero modes. They form the (SO(5)/SO(4)) vector and decompose as (3+1) under the declared diagonal (SO(3)). There is no independent scalar intrinsic parity, and one bulk gauge coupling parallelizes the packet.

However,

Sym⁡(4)SO(4)=RI4.\operatorname{Sym}(4)^{SO(4)}=\mathbb R I_4.

Every bulk quadratic portal therefore has zero singlet–triplet contrast. At a boundary preserving only diagonal (SO(3)), the commutant enlarges to

diag⁡(a,a,a,b),\operatorname{diag}(a,a,a,b),

and the free ordered contrast (b-a) reappears.

Classification

Higher-dimensional gauge invariance is a source-derived carrier selector and coupling parallelizer. It is neither an asymmetric portal selector nor a magnitude selector. The first locus permitting asymmetry also permits its independent coefficient.

Scope

The result covers bulk quadratic portal forms and residual-symmetry boundary forms for this orbifold packet. It does not exclude a quantized asymmetric holonomy or anomaly-fixed boundary operation derived from additional source dynamics.
