The Positive Ward-Spectral Functional Needs a Source Clock

The combined functional

Fα(Q,D)=Tr⁡Q2+αTr⁡D2F_\alpha(Q,D)=\operatorname{Tr}Q^2+\alpha\operatorname{Tr}D^2

detects WP834's neutral completion at one fixed common spectral scale. The base and completed spectral squares are 9 and 22.

Operator irreducibility survives D↦λDD\mapsto\lambda D. The base at unit scale and neutral completion at 3/223/\sqrt{22} have identical score 14+9α14+9\alpha for every α>0\alpha>0. The positive spectral penalty also has an unattained zero-scale infimum on the irreducible positive-scale domain.

Adding an inverse-spectral term produces a stationary scale only through

λ4=37β352α.\lambda^4=\frac{37\beta}{352\alpha}.

The new coefficient ratio supplies the missing clock rather than deriving it.

Consequence

Positivity repairs the neutral kernel only after a charged-neutral metric and common spectral clock have already been fixed. No admitted instrument measures both pieces in one calibrated relative metric. The candidate remains a conditional comparison functional and spectral rigidifier, not a complete portal selector.

Evidence

Claim boundary

This result audits the displayed finite positive functionals. It does not exclude a source action that independently derives the relative metric, spectral clock, and a unique global minimizer over the completed physical domain.
