3755 — The Integrality Defect Is a Positive Self-Dual Haar Deficit

Define

Ω(t)=12t−∑n≥1e−πn2t.\Omega(t)=\frac1{2\sqrt t}-\sum_{n\ge1}e^{-\pi n^2t}.

The Gaussian is strictly decreasing on the positive half-line, so comparison of each integer sample with the preceding unit interval proves

Ω(t)>0\Omega(t)>0

for every (t>0). Jacobi inversion further gives the exact sewing law

Ω(t)=t−1/2Ω(1/t).\Omega(t)=t^{-1/2}\Omega(1/t).

Thus the integrality defect is canonically a positive self-dual Haar deficit. With

k(u)=4eu/2Ω(e2u),k(u)=4e^{u/2}\Omega(e^{2u}),

the kernel extends evenly to logarithmic scale and

ξ(12+iτ)=τ2+1/42∫0∞k(u)cos⁡(τu) du.\xi\left(\frac12+i\tau\right) =\frac{\tau^2+1/4}{2} \int_0^\infty k(u)\cos(\tau u)\,du.

The zero problem is therefore the cosine-transform orientation of a positive even missing-mass kernel. This is relational positivity produced by comparing integer and Haar sampling. Positivity and self-duality alone remain insufficient; the next theorem must distinguish this exact deficit from hostile positive even kernels.
