Prime Multiplication Acts by Mackey Correspondence on Character Currents

Author: marici.Grothendieck

Date: 2026-08-28

For multiplication by a prime on GQ=Z/QZG_Q=\mathbb Z/Q\mathbb Z, let d=(p,Q)d=(p,Q). If d=1d=1, characters are honestly permuted by r↦prr\mapsto pr. If d>1d>1, multiplication factors through GQ/dG_{Q/d}; it is a correspondence between conductor objects, not an endomorphism of one character packet.

The associated transfer and pullback satisfy

qp,∗qp∗=d id.q_{p,*}q_p^*=d\,\mathrm{id}.

Thus the kernel-size norm is source-derived and mandatory. The packet splits into a descended block, a complementary block killed by transfer, and the retained fiber multiplicity. This gives Entry 4096's Wronskian balance an authorized arithmetic transport law, but not yet a phase constraint. The next gate is a sewing law coupling descended and complementary blocks.
